Rosemarie Danziger

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Rosemarie Danziger studied at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem and at Hartt College of Music, Connecticut. After graduating from the Theater Department at Cornell University, she served as a dramaturg at Tåstrup Theater in Denmark. At the same time, she kept performing in concerts and opera productions. She performed and recorded with major Danish orchestras: Sjællands Symphony Orchestra, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
In 1989, Rosemarie Danziger moved to Canada where she sang with Orchestra London, the McGill Orchestra and Edmonton Symphony. Since her move to Canada, Ms. Danziger has kept a busy touring and guesting schedule in important opera houses and music centers in Europe such as Mannheim, Freiburg, Hamburg, Graz, Basel Budapest and Gdansk. She sang under the batons of the prominent conductors Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Walter Weller, Donald Runnicles, Jun Märkl, Nir Kabaretti, Tamas Vetö, Franz Paul Decker and Grzegorz Nowak, Leon Botstein and Salomão Rabinovitz.
Ms. Danziger’s repertoire includes roles in operas by Mozart, Richard Strauss, Verdi, Puccini, and roles in classical operettas by Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kálmán and Franz Lehár., Ms. Danziger has appeared in a wide repertoire in recitals and concerts.
In 2014 Rosemarie Danziger founded together with Maestro David Aronson of the Vienna State Opera and Maestra Sylvia Greenberg the non-profit organization ‘Vienna-Tel Aviv Vocal Connection’ (VTAVC), whose goal is to further local and international young professional singers on the cusp of their careers. The organization produces fully staged operas with leading Israeli orchestras in prestigious venues around the country. In the VTAVC productions the young singers appear alongside well-known international artists. Since 2023 the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Julian Rachlin became the exclusive partner of the VTAVC productions.
Ms. Danziger’s staging work and production in recent years include, Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra under Maestro David Aronson; Johann Strass’ “Die Fledermaus” with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, under Maestro David Aronson; A staged Viennese Gala with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra under Maestro David Aronson; Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with the Israel Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Ariel Zuckermann and a renewed production of the same opera with The Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, under Maestro Nir Kabaretti; Pergolesi’s “La serva padrona”,two different productions with the Israel Chamber Orchestra under Maestri Yizhar Karshon and Rotem Nir”; Ullmann’s “Der Kaiser von Atlantis” with the Israel Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Adrian Sylveen (semi staged); Mozart’s “The Impresario” with the Israel Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Stanley Sperber. Ms. Danziger also teaches acting techniques and is an acting mentor for professional singers.
